Triple award-winning Edinburgh music pub The Jazz Bar will host an unusual teatime taster during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. International Jazz pianist Jonathan Gee and singer Louise Gibbs join Leeds-based actors Trio Literati for FIVE BEATS IN A BAR . The show combines the vivid energy and rhythm of 1950s and 1960s Jazz ‘greats’ Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, and Charles Mingus with words by the iconic – and laconic - Beat Poets Ginsberg, Creeley and Ferlinghetti and contemporary poets influenced by the Beats. This blend of words, music and improvisation is sure to thrill lovers of jazz, poetry and live performance alike. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!
